The purpose of the WI EMS HONOR GUARD is to remember and honor those emergency medical services personnel who have died in the line of duty and to recognize the ultimate sacrifice they have made for their fellow man.
The objective of the Wisconsin EMS Honor Guard Association is to provide organizational standards, uniformity, procedures, support and guidance to EMS Honor Guard Districts throughout Wisconsin in order to operate independently or together as a Ceremonial Honor Guard or color guard.
We provide funeral assistance to all Wisconsin EMS departments and providers, support to family members of fallen an EMS provider, who has sustained a serious injury or who has died as a result of an injury or illness sustained in the line of duty.
We also present colors and provide EMS Color Guard members at events that present EMS in a professional and honorable manner.
If you have an honor guard unit or wish to form one in your area, please contact the state commander for more information and a personal meeting to discuss options.
As I perform my duty Lord whatever be the call, help keep me safe from dangers big and small. I want to serve and do my best No matter what the scene, I pledge to keep my skills refined, my judgment quick and keen.
This calling to give of myself most do not understand, but I stand ready all the time to help my fellow man. The praise of men is fine for some, but I feel truly blessed, that you oh Lord have chosen me To serve in EMS.
